General Information
2026 Operating Dates:
Open Weekends : June 6th - 21st
Saturday and Sundays - 10:30 - 7:00 p.m. 

Open Seven Days a week : June 22nd - September 7th  
Monday - Thursday - 11:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Friday - Sunday - 10:30 - 7:00 p.m.

The Town Beach is conveniently located off Route 9 and Federal Street, on Town Beach Road. The beach will be staffed during all posted hours by American Red Cross trained lifeguards with CPR/First Aid and Waterfront certifications. Charcoal grills, picnic tables, restrooms, changing facilities, and an outside shower are available for use. Pedal boats can be rented for a small fee.

Note: Inflatable flotation devices are NOT allowed.

Residents and non-residents are welcome. 

The town beach is a cash/check ONLY establishment.

*Memberships may be purchased online with a credit card or paid for at the gate by check.

Children 12 & under MUST be accompanied by a paying adult. All Season passes are purchased online or at the Town Beach only, proof of residency is required at time of purchase. The telephone number for the Town Beach is (413)-213-0010 and operates during the season. 

Beach Rules:
No Alcohol on Beach Property
No Vaping/Smoking on Beach Property
No Persons with a Communicable Disease can enter the water
No Glass bottles or containers
No Climbing on one another/horseplay/splashing others
No Piggy backs or hanging onto someone’s neck
No Holding breath contests
No Snorkels or goggles that cover the nose
No fins
No Hanging on ropes
No Chicken fights
No Throwing each other/children
No inflatables
No boogieboards when there are more than 20 patrons
All lifejackets must be coastguard approved
No animals/pets permitted on premises




Party Rentals:

All Party Rentals must be scheduled through the Aquatics coordinator. For inquiries please email MJ Furnia at mfurnia@belchertown.org


Full private party:
$200.00: 2 hours private. Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 9:00a.m.-  11:00a.m.
(only available by special request minimum 3 weeks prior to date) 
 
Semi private party (must be reserved two weeks prior to rental date):
Friday-Sunday:
1 hour private, 1 hour while open to the public: 9:30- 11:30 only, $150 for the rental.

30 minutes private and 1 hour 30 minutes public: 10:00-12:00 only, $125.00 for the rental

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday:
1 hour private, 1 hour while open to the public: 10:00- 12:00 only, $150 for the rental.

30 minutes private and 1 hour 30 minutes public: 10:30-12:30 only, $125.00 for the rental 

Non-Private party (Max 30 people):
$100.00: 2 hours while open to the public. Times and days are flexible, any 2-hour time slot between the following hours Monday-Thursday 11:00-5:00 and Friday-Sunday 10:30a.m.- 6:00p.m.


All rentals include up to 25 swimmers.
Additional lifeguard is available for larger parties (20.00/hour).

*Rentals are not available on Tuesdays.


**Beach passes may purchased online at the Rec department office or at the Town Beach during operating hours.
