Belchertown Running Club - Running Club The Running Club is designed for all runners with no prior experience needed. This program offers proper stretching and breathing techniques to safely run at the beginner level. The kids will participate in warm up activities, level appropriate training to learn endurance and pace, discussions about the benefits of and joys physical activity, specifically running as a lifelong sport. We will also discuss sportsmanship, positive mindset, empowerment, and motivation. Everyone will need to come to practice with comfortable attire, sneakers, and a water bottle. A healthy snack for after school is highly recommended.
The goal is to be outside enjoying the fall weather as much as we can, especially after spending most of the school day inside. For this reason, please have your child dress comfortably and in layers, hats and gloves may be necessary. We will be OUTSIDE at the CHCS track if the weather is dry and 35* or higher. When we are outside, pick up will be at the pavilion at Jessica’s playground. If the weather is wet or below 34* or lower or INDOORS location will be: the high school indoor track if within the first 3 week with pick up at the main entrance of the high school, or CHCS gym if within the last 3 weeks with pick up location at the CHCS gym. If we are Indoors for practice I will notify you on the day of by EMAIL.
This program will be held at the Belchertown high school indoor track. Children will need a note from home to stay after school and gather in the school pickup area where the instructor will be located. Parent pick up will be at the high school track located in the high school gym unless otherwise notified.
