This course is designed to prepare you with the necessary skills and knowledge to react to a variety of scenarios in and around the water. Through training, students will learn how to quickly respond and understand the elements that will help them prevent drowning and injuries. 

Lifeguarding students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class and pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking the course. The blended learning course combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions. Recertification and waterfront courses are also available for those who hold current lifeguarding certifications.

The prequalification test:
300yrd continuous swim, freestyle or breast stroke.
Treading water for 2 minutes with no hands.
Swimming 25 yrds, retrieving a brick in 12 ft, and towing it while swimming on your back for 25 yrds, in under 1:40.
