• The Town of Belchertown wants to thoughtfully consider both the structure and the offerings of its community services departments. The Town is launching an online survey to gather community input.
   
  For the purposes of this survey, community services are the Recreation Department, the Council on Aging / Senior Center, and the Veteran’s Services Department.
   
  The Town wants to hear what you want from Town community services, and what potential changes you may be willing to consider.

• As part of a comprehensive management program, The Town of Belchertown's  Lake Metacomet will be treated with the USEPA/MA registered aquatic herbicide Sonar (fluridone) to control non-native and invasive fanwort and milfoil. The treatment will be conducted on Wednesday, July 9th. The lake will be closed to all water uses (including boating, fishing, and swimming) for a 24 hour period following the treatment. Applicable water use restrictions will be posted with signs around the shoreline prior to application.
